Innovative Business Software A/S is a Danish company founded in 1982.
Since then we have developed innovative security solutions and built up a solid global customer base.
EARLY 80’S
Innovative Business Software A/S, known as IBS, was founded in 1982. The aim was to streamline the alarm monitoring at alarm receiving centres and control centres using the latest technology. By dramatically raising the productivity, we created an entirely new market for control centres, as the price of a connection could be reduced sufficiently to be really able to sell connections to private homes. The foundation for the last 25 years of steady growth in the number of connections to the control centres was created.
MID 80’S
The entry of the PCs into the mid 80-s created the basis for developing more affordable systems. Now, smaller installations could also reap the benefits of the new technology. Innovative followed suit and soon introduced the CMS/DOS (PC-control center). Meanwhile, IBS began collaboration with the Danish public telephone company about receiving alarms from the dedicated Danish public alarm network (“AlarmNet”). This simple and stable system, together with the increasing prevalence of the AlarmNet, secured IBS a solid market share in Denmark.
LATE 80’S
The spread of UNIX and software for managing relational databases in the late 80’s, created unprecedented opportunities for developing systems for major customers. IBS’s response was the development of Security Business Networks (SNBs) that – in addition to alarm handling, servicing and billing – could also be expanded with modules to handle marketing, sales, inventory and much more. The new system quickly attracted major new customers in Europe and the U.S., and we found it necessary to open an office in Dallas, Texas.
MID 90’S
In the mid 90’s, it was time to make new choices. The requirement for graphical user interfaces dominated. To take full advantage of the new technology, we developed the entire system from scratch. This way we made sure that the architecture was properly adapted to the new requirements and opportunities. The goal was to develop a system that could meet the requirements of both small and large customers. The keywords were security, flexibility and scalability. The result was interVIEW, which we launched in 1998. We succeeded in meeting the overall objectives and the system has proved to be a great foundation for the continuous development, which is required to meet the continuous changes in the technological opportunities, expectations and requirements.
1999
As a consequence of the organisational changes between Dallas and Copenhagen, the two companies ceased cooperation and a group of loyal employees took over the company in 1999. At the same time, the company in Copenhagen started to be known as Innovative Business Software A/S or in short form; Innovative, and no longer IBS. Shortly afterwards, we introduced a brand new IT solution for the Danish National Police Force 112 Emergency Centre. The system proofed such as success that Innovative today provide the alarm handling solutions for all the Emergency Centres in Denmark. The electronic dispatch calls from the Emergency Centres to each national Emergency Management Agency has further consolidated our market and continued development of our software solutions.
2007
The combination of alarm handling with management of vehicles allowed the control centers to dispatch alarms or tasks directly to vehicles. Alarms are displayed on an interactive digital map with online viewing of vehicles. The GPS naviga-tion guides drivers to their destination.
2013
As a response to the higher demand for video integration, a Universal Video Platform (UVP) is included in our solution. UVP unifies video cameras, video management systems and network video recorders from different manufacturers into a single integrated video platform.
2014
Innovative wins a tender to provide The Security Operations Center (SOC) at Copenhagen Airport with a versatile solution for establishing the best operational overview in real-time, optimising incident and resource management through highly automated task registration, efficient resource allocation and execution, automated documentation and data collection for enhanced planning. Shortly after, we launch a task & resource mobile app for Android™.
2016
The incorporation of many new and advanced features in our standard product, has resulted in a product that not only supports alarm reception, but which is a fully integrated digital platform for managing security activities in a broader sense. interVIEW becomes therefore Innovative Security Manager™ (ISM). A platform that opens new possibilities for use, for customers with high demands for control of the security situation.
2017
Based on Innovative’s success in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, the company now aims to position themselves as the main supplier within the Nordic region with a new office in Oslo. In connection to this, we have expanded our team with experienced professionals to carry out our strategic plans.
